Central Vermont Railway 2-8-0


Class N5a, built by Alco in 1923, 105.8 tonnes, 200 psi (13.8 bar) boiler pressure, 56 inch (1.42 metre) driving wheels, 24 x 32 inch (0.61 x 0.81 metre) cylinders, 49,750 pounds (221 kN) tractive force.  The first photo was taken in Palmer, Massachusetts in September 1956, the second in South Monson, Massachusetts in November 1949 by John Wallace.
