the first Kingston Flyer book

This book appeared in 1975, published by Craigs in Invercargill.  At that time the train ran the 36 km from Lumsden to Kingston, but after the railway lines around Lumsden were closed by the end of 1982 it was truncated to the 14 km between Fairlight and Kingston, so scenes like the one here, taken at Garston, were no longer possible.

After this book sold out, there was nothing available for several years until our book The Kingston Flyer Line: a history, which has now likewise sold out.  But not to worry - a new edition is at the printer!
