Santa Fe General Electric Dash 8-40cw


Seen in Arizona in the mid-1990s, before the the merger to create BNSF.  Santa Fe acquired 152 of this 4,000 hp Co-Co type road switcher (what we call 'line service') locomotive produced from 1989 to 1994.  The 'w' at the end of the model name indicated wide cab.
