trains in Jebba, Nigeria

"Partially derailed goods train" in 2011 at Jebba (News Agency of Nigeria)
A post on the country where people seem to spend their time composing creative fiction letters and mass mailing them around the world: These two pics show trains in the small town of Jebba.  The Lagos-Ibadan railway was extended to Jebba in 1909 and was linked with the Kano-Baro line by the construction of a two-section railway bridge with a total span of 1,795 feet (547 metres) over the Niger River in 1915.

The Nigerian railway system is 3'6" gauge and presently extends 3,505 km.  It is operated by "theoretically nearly 200 locomotives, of which up to 75% are non-operational."
