trams in Versailles, France

Trams in the Avenue Saint Cloud in 1950.
The Versailles system in 1950.
The Versailles trams were standard gauge, began as horse drawn in 1876 and were electrified 20 years later when 29 power cars were ordered. Another 7 were ordered later, and there were 10 trailers  The cars were painted yellow originally which in the 1940s was changed to blue. The system closed in 1957. Two of the power cars are preserved in museums. See also the post on the Gare des Chantiers.
