The steam train was operated by Les Tramways à Vapeur de l'Ardèche, a line from Vernoux to Saint-Péray, extended to Valence. The steam train ended on 31 December 1928; the year before a new electric tram (one of the last in France before the 1980s) had begun between Valence and Saint-Péray, 4 km, which lasted to 1950.
